Abstract [excerpt]

This research was conducted with 309 students at a regional high school in the northeastern United States. This was a quasi-experimental quantitative study aimed at analyzing the effectiveness of Khan Academy's SAT Mathematics Preparation Program using data from the results on the mathematics section of the October 2018 PSAT. This study aimed to assess the general effectiveness of Khan Academy's SAT Mathematics Preparation Program as well as analyze more specific details such as variation in student use of the program and influences on scores from demographic characteristics such as gender, ethnicity, socioecomic level, and students with disabilities. These questions were addressed by comparing mean PSAT Math scores of student [sic] who used Khan Academy as compared to those who did not in preparation for the 2018 PSAT as well as by comparing mean PSAT scores of the entire student population of test takers from each of the PSAT administrations from 2015 through 2018. Additionally, regression models were used to investigate differences in the types of use of the program as well as differences resulting from demographic information.
