Abstract
This thesis examines the relationships between two collections of human remains from different socioeconomic statuses in New Kingdom Abydos, Egypt, based on an analysis of five dental pathologies. The expectations were for the higher status collection to have higher levels of calculus and caries, whereas the lower status population was expected to have higher levels of wear, more abscesses and a greater percentage of teeth lost ante-mortem.
