Abstract This paper examines the history and folklore associated with a ruined industrial complex in the New Jersey Pine Barrens commonly known as the Pasedena Terra Cotta Company. Through mapping of the site and extensive historical research it appears that the site is not a terra cotta factory at all, but rather an early twentieth century brickworks associated with the Brooksbrae Brick Company.
