The collection is open for research use. Access is by appointment only.
Access to the collection is confined to the Monmouth University Library and is subject to patron policies approved by the Monmouth University Library.
Collection holdings may not be borrowed through interlibrary loan.
Research appointments are scheduled by the Monmouth University Library Archives Collections Manager (723-923-4526). A minimum of three days advance notice is required to arrange a research appointment for access to the collection.
Patrons must complete a Researcher Registration Form and provide appropriate identification to gain access to the collection holdings. Copies of these documents will be kept on file at the Monmouth University Library.

Abstract
In wireless communications the electromagnetic interaction between the antennas of portable devices and the human body is of prime importance. This paper provides a thorough evaluation of the potential biological effects of low power radiofrequency radiation exposure by reviewing the available data from research performed to date by industry, academia, and the government. The results of experimentation, simulations, and studies will be used to compare the possible thermal and athermal effects of various low power communications devices presently in use by both the public and the military. The typical power densities and Specific Absorbtion Rates (SAR) of the devices and associated thermal effects will be discussed as required. The athermal related aspects of exposure to radiofrequency radiation will be evaluated with results indicating possible biological effects presented. Also investigated are the potential problems with medical devices as a result of exposure to radiofrequency radiation from cellular phones.
