Marie B. Emmons Obituary

Marie B. Emmons AGE: 81 • Neptune City

Marie B. Emmons passed away on July 27, 2015. She was born in New York City and resided in Walwick and Rumson until she married her husband, Albert. They became residents of Bradley Beach and then Neptune City. In addition to raising three children, Marie and Albert were foster parents to eighty-three children over a period of seventeen years. Following those years of making a difference in so many lives, Marie decided to pursue her dream of attending college. She received a scholarship and graduated from Brookdale Community College and then earned another scholarship and graduated from Monmouth College in 1988 with a BA in Education. Marie was a special education teacher at the Schroth School in Ocean Township for ten years, where she continued to make a difference in the lives of her students, their families and her colleagues. Marie was a member of Monmouth Church of Christ, Tinton Falls. She assumed many leadership roles within the church community where she selflessly devoted her time, and provided guidance to many.

Marie is survived by her husband of 60 years, Albert, children Kathy Cagney, James Emmons and his wife Lisa and Sandra Hoecker and her husband David, all of Neptune City. She is also survived by her grandchildren Michael, Maria (Matt), Kelly (Mike), Josh (Kathy), Kayce and DJ; great grandchildren Malik, Caleb, Julie, Kyle, Ryan, and Zoe.

A memorial service will take place on August 1, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Monmouth Church of Christ 312 Hance Avenue Tinton Falls, NJ. To honor Marie's memory donations may be sent to Activities Department: Manor By the Sea 160 Main Street Ocean Grove, NJ 07756, or continue her legacy of making a difference in the lives of people by performing a random act of kindness.
