AGE: 77 • Oceanport

Thomas A. Maffia, 77, of Oceanport, died Thursday, March 10, 2011, at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center at Monmouth Medical Center. Thomas was a builder for Jamestown Associates in Eatontown before retiring in 1996. He was past president of the Alliance Development Company and Kingswood Inc. and was the Director at King James Nursing Home. He was a graduate from Monmouth University. Born in Jersey City, he was a life resident of the shore area. Thomas served his country honorably in the U.S. Army and in 1976, he and his wife traveled to Colombia to adopt their daughter.

Surviving are his wife, Joan Capozzi Maffia; and a daughter, Marisa Maffia of Asbury Park.

A memorial gathering will be from 2 p.m. Sunday, March 13 until the time of the funeral service at 4 p.m. at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., (corner of Third Ave.), Long Branch. The family invites you to leave an online condolence at www.damianofuneralhome.com.
